Marine Corp Buddy Challenge
Dozens of people came to participate in the Marine Corps Buddy Challenge run, which was held at Colonel Francis Beatty Park in Matthews, NC. The event was dedicated to our local hero, Lance Cpl. Noah M. Pier. Pier died Feb. 16 while supporting combat operations in Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province.
The Greater Carolinas Chapter’s volunteers were two veterans from the Korean War-era, one from Desert Storm and one who is motivated to join the military. They supported this event by cheering on the runners, handing out coffee, hot chocolate and water to the participants and spectators.
