SAF volunteers help military families over the holidays

The Services to the Armed Forces volunteers delivered a donation of holiday decorations to several organizations and individuals. Those that received these decorations were 2 military families and two women’s shelters. One family was so grateful and proud of their tree and decorations that they sent us a picture.

Holiday Mail for Heroes Card Sorting Party was a great hit. Over 5,000 cards to our service members, their families and veterans were sorted and hand delivered to the National Guard, Air National Guard, Navy & Marine Reserves, VA medical centers, VA Nursing homes, and the USO located at Charlotte-Douglas Airport to hand out to traveling service members.

Due to the Red Cross employees and volunteers generosity, a total of four military families were sponsored. These families are spending their last Christmas together before one (or both) parents are deployed. They may be deployed for up to 18 months (possibly the next 2 Christmases). We wanted to ensure that they have the best possible Christmas together.
