Holiday Party for National Guard Families
This is the last Christmas these national guard families will have together before one (or both) of the parents are deployed for up to 18 months (possibly the next two Christmases) We wanted to make sure that their holiday is a special event for them all. Our eleven volunteers came to help with children’s activities and setting up and serving the holiday meal.

Navy Reserve Training Day
SAF Volunteers help support an American Red Cross Services to Armed Forces informational table for the Navy Reserve. Over 150 service members participated. The informational table features brochures and handouts that provide information on how families can reach a deployed service member when there is an emergency at home. It is also a program where we can coordinate financial assistance and counseling.

The American Red Cross, Services to Armed Forces and the Exchange Club hosted a Candle Light Vigil for Veterans and current service members at Little Joes Chapel – Barium Springs Campus located in Troutman. This service was especially sweet as candles were lit for the special people in our lives who have served and are currently serving.
